Answer to previous question "D'ou en Angleterre" is that it is NOT in England but here in France, notice the sidecar on the right...
So it's time for the first service:
I wonder how other folk refill their Gearbox Oil? I realised that it needs warming in cold weather but used too narrow a pipe and it took a VERY LONG time...
So I started again with a shorter tube and nice warm oil and it was soon done. I have been riding it with no Ballast in the sidecar and have been having a lot of fun on those sudden corners so popular in French villages, After the winter layover I shall find something suitable to create some ballast (like a lady-friend
)

This type of "ballast" can be pleasant...well, not everytime. But in case she complains, you don't hear her, - unless she shrieks !

At your level of humor I see that you are in good shape ! The oil filling of the gearbox gave you trouble but the finesse of the York people was the strongest.
Bravo for this first work of the 500 kms. You will find that the Ural is a formidable machine that facilitates insertion ...
Can you do without it ? If so then alchemy has not yet fully acted. If a little is that the illumination is near !
One must be careful, however, because an excess of love for Ural causes irreversible side effects ...

Pour bien vieillir prendre une cuillère de gentillesse et de bon coeur. Une pincée de prévoyance. Une larme de soins corporels. Mettre dans un saladier rempli d'envies de voyages intérieurs ou extérieurs, et de quelques pousses de nature. Faire cuire avec des tonnes de passion de stages EM et d'entraide. Servir chaud et souriant, se laisser emporter par un vent d'Oural!
